Items not returned on the due date are considered overdue. A daily fine of 10-cents per-day per-item will be assessed beginning with the first day. The maximum fine will not exceed the cost of the item. If items are not returned within 7 days, the borrower will be sent an overdue notice.
One day after the items become overdue, a courtesy telephone call will be made as a reminder. If no telephone number, a postcard will be sent at no charge.
After one week of unreturned items, a postcard will be sent with an additional charge of $2.00 added to the fine.
If overdues are still not returned one week after the first notice is sent, a second notice will be sent with an additional charge of $5.00.
If the items are not returned by the specified date in this notice, a reprocessing surcharge of $3.00 per item will be added and charged to your record. The purpose of this is to save staff time involved in removing and then adding the material back into the collection.
Borrowing privileges and computer privileges will be suspended until the overdue items are returned and fees are paid.
